Penny Wars
Competitive Student Fundraising
The annual penny wars fundraiser pits student sections against each other to raise money through small contributions of pocket change.
Eighth grade students at Paul Kinder Middle School, Brittany Hill Middle School, and all students at Blue Springs High School can place their money in the buckets at their respective schools.
The sections will be designated for brass, woodwinds, percussion, and color guard. To make the competition fair for student size in each section ratio will be compared to allow smaller sections to compete with larger sections.
The higher the coin/dollar value, the more points that are earned.
Penny = 1 Point
Nickel = 10 Points
Dime = 20 Points
Quarter = 55 Points
Dollar Bill = 250 Points
Five Dollar Bill = 1,500 Points
Ten Dollar Bill = 3,500 Points
Twenty Dollar Bill = 7,500 Points
The winning section (most points) will receive a pizza party celebration at the end of the Show Reveal Mixer.
Congratulations to the 2024 Penny Wars fundraiser winning section "The Color Guard!"
Buckets for donations will also be made available at each of the spring concerts.
