Wind Symphony of Blue Springs
The Finest Musical Performances
The Wind Symphony at Blue Springs High School is the top performing concert band. Members are selected through an audition process each spring.
The Blue Springs Wind Symphony has had the honor of performing at the past Missouri Music Educators Association Conference, most recently in 2022. In 2024, the Wind Symphony attended and performed at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival, being recognized alongside some of the top concert bands from around the country.
The Wind Symphony has also received the prestigious honor of receiving the President's Cup as presented at the National Concert Band Festival that is hosted by Pershing's Own US Army Band. The band has also performed numerous exhibition performances at the University of Central Missouri, Kansas State University, and the University of Missouri Kansas City.
In 2023, the Blue Springs Wind Symphony participated in the Concert in the Springs alongside top performing groups from Blue Springs and Blue Springs South High Schools at Kansas City's Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The Blue Springs Wind Symphony has had the honor of working with guest conductors and clinicians including Richard Saucedo, Dr. Dale Warren, and Dr. Frank Tracz.
The holiday and Spring concert performances of the Wind Symphony are perennial favorites for the Blue Springs community. The works for their performances have included "Machu Picchu" by Satoshi Yagisawa.
